About
An enzyme called hyaluronidase can be used to dissolve unwanted hyaluronic acid-based dermal fillers. This comes in two forms, a powder that is reconstituted in saline to produce a thin liquid that is injected into the tissues, along the lines of the old filler, with the aim of dissolving all existing filler. A new product, Topilase, is a hyaluronidase-based topical cream that can be rubbed into skin in areas of unsightly filler deposits to dissolve the underlying filler. Initially developed for targeting superficially-placed filler in the tear trough area, this is used to target specific filler deposits whilst leaving the majority unaltered.
